My Story

How curiosity turned into a career of building things

I didn't set out to build a company. I just kept noticing problems I couldn't leave alone — and fixing them, one at a time, is what eventually became this body of work.

For a long time, I built things for other people's companies — solving their growth problems, shipping their products, sitting in their strategy meetings. It was good work. But every project ended the same way: I'd hand it off, and six months later I'd wonder what actually happened to it.

So I started keeping the things I built instead of handing them off. That's the short version of how Olai, GenuineCRO, Huezer, and PriceLab happened — problems I kept running into myself, solved well enough that other people wanted the fix too.

"I've never been good at leaving a broken thing alone."

Somewhere in there, people started asking how I made decisions — not just what to build, but how to think about growth, pricing, hiring, all of it. That turned into coaching and consulting, and eventually into a newsletter and a podcast where I'm trying to write down what actually worked, instead of what just sounds good in a pitch deck.

"The stuff that actually works rarely makes a good highlight reel."

Somewhere in all of that, I also started writing books — one about grief and rebuilding, and one that has nothing to do with business at all. Different parts of the same brain, I think. You can find both on the books page.

This site is where all of it lives: the strategy work, the products, the books, and the newsletter I'm just getting started on. If any of it is useful to you, that's the whole point.
